Welcome to Galway

After an extremely long 21 hours, we made it to our hotel in Galway, Ireland, around 6:15pm local time tonight. Everyone had time to grab a shower before we met downstairs in the hotel restaurant for a "welcome dinner." We had choices of such Irish staples as curry-crusted chicken and apple pie. (?) But I digress, most of us really enjoyed the meal and decided to head out to explore the town afterwards. We had to hit the ATM first, and then we stumbled upon a pub (I know...surprise, surprise) that had live music tonight. Some of us even found our way into the thrones that they had for their royal guests. All in all, it was a great start to our time in Galway.

Tomorrow we have a lecture in the morning, and then we're off to the Cliffs of Moher, one of the major attractions in all of Ireland. So I'll try to post a good number of pictures of that. Now it's definitely bedtime so that I don't fall off of the cliffs tomorrow!

  1. Glad you arrived safely. Look forward to your tales of Ireland. Let me know if you see any leprechauns, and I don't mean AFTER you've been to the pub.
